Krillion “Signal Lost. Resend”: What It Means and How to Fix It
By the Krillion Daily team ·
You type a great deep cut, press enter — and instead of sinking, Krillion shows a short line in lower case: “signal lost. resend”. It is one of the most common things players search for, because the message is terse and the clock is ticking. The good news: Krillion signal lost is a connection problem, not a wrong answer, and in most cases you can fix it in a second.
What “signal lost. resend” means
When you submit an answer in the official Krillion Daily Dive, the game sends it to its server to be checked against that prompt’s answer list. The server replies with the verdict — accepted with a rarity tier, or not on the list. The “signal lost” message appears when that reply never arrives in a usable form. Looking at how the official web app behaves, there are three triggers:
- The request times out. If the server has not answered within roughly six and a half seconds, the game gives up waiting and shows “signal lost. resend”.
- The server returns an error. A failed response from the game’s server produces the same message.
- The connection drops. If the request cannot be sent at all — Wi-Fi blips, mobile data switching, a VPN reconnecting — you get the message straight away.
In every case, the game is telling you the same thing: “I don’t know whether your answer was right, because I never heard back.” That is why it says resend rather than “wrong”.
Your answer is not lost
The message sounds dramatic, but nothing is thrown away. Your typed answer stays in the input box, the prompt stays on screen and no points are deducted. Krillion simply waits for you to try again. As long as the 25-second timer is still running, pressing enter again resends exactly the same answer and it is judged normally — an accepted Deep Cut still scores 85, and a One in a Krillion pick still scores 100.
The one thing the message does not do is pause the clock. If the timer has already run out when the problem happens, the round is closed out like any other timeout. So the golden rule is: resend immediately, don’t wait for the connection to “feel” better.
How to fix Krillion signal lost, step by step
- Press enter (or the dive button) again. This is the fix nine times out of ten. A single slow request is common right after the daily reset, when everyone starts the new dive at once.
- Check that you are actually online. Open another tab or app. If nothing loads, reconnect to Wi-Fi or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Turn off VPNs and data savers for a moment. Some VPN apps and “lite” browser modes delay or block small background requests, which looks exactly like a timeout to the game.
- Avoid captive portals. Hotel, café and airport Wi-Fi often need you to accept terms in a separate page first; until you do, every request fails.
- Reload if it keeps happening. If the error repeats on every submission, a page refresh usually clears a stuck connection. Do it between prompts if you can, so you do not lose answering time.
- Try another browser. Aggressive ad-blockers or privacy extensions occasionally interfere with game requests. A clean browser window rules them out quickly.
Signal lost vs. “no echo. try again”
Krillion has a second short message that people confuse with the first: “no echo. try again”. The two mean very different things:
| Message | What happened | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| signal lost. resend | The server never confirmed your answer | Send the same answer again |
| “…”: no echo. try again | The server checked it — it is not an accepted answer | Type a different answer |
In other words, “no echo” is a real verdict and resending the same word will not help. If you are sure a no-echo answer is correct, it may simply be missing from that prompt’s list; our how to play Krillion guide explains how the answer sets are built and why fair answers are sometimes refused.
Why it happens more on school and work networks
Managed networks inspect traffic before letting it through. That extra hop can push a request past the game’s waiting time, and some filters block requests to new or unknown domains outright. If you only ever see “signal lost” at school or work, the network is the likely cause. Please don’t try to get around those filters — ask whoever runs the network instead. In the meantime, our free Krillion Unblocked page runs an unofficial Krillion-style game in a single lightweight page.
Is Krillion down right now?
Occasional signal-lost messages are almost always local. A real outage looks different: the error appears on every answer, for every player, and the Daily Dive may not load at all. If you suspect that, check the r/Krillion community for reports, then try again a little later — the official Daily Dive stays open until the next reset at midnight US Eastern time, so you will not miss the day. Our Krillion Daily Dive page shows the reset time in your time zone.
Quick checklist
- “signal lost. resend” = connection problem, not a wrong answer.
- Your answer is kept — press enter again right away.
- The 25-second timer keeps running while you resend.
- Repeated errors: reconnect, disable VPN or data saver, then reload between prompts.
- “no echo. try again” is different — it means the answer is not accepted.
